Sondra "Sondy" Kay Chism, 63, Kokomo, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at her residence. Born Oct. 31, 1946, Sondy was the daughter of Lilli (Livingston) Gordon and John Gordon. Sondy worked in the food service industry and bar business for more than 40 years. Sondy was much more than a bar owner, she was an intricate part of the Kokomo community. A colon cancer survivor, Verlin Dale Rody died at 4 a.m. July 27, 2010, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Wawpecong, Miami County, on Sept. 22, 1926, Dale was the third son of Leores Rody, a farmer and laborer, and Ida (Wolf) Rody, a homemaker.
